Peterborough, UK, 3rd September 2008: In a bid to help companies reduce carbon emissions created by truck, trains, cars, vans, airplanes and motorbikes, Climate and Environment Media has launched the UK’s first and only sustainable transport show and conference. Sustainable Transport Show and Conference 2008 is expected to attract influencers and decision makers from the UK’s transport industry including fleet managers, haulage specialists and logistic exerts and will give hints and tips on how to develop and implement environmentally friendly transport programmes. Over the two days, the Sustainable Transport Conference will give constructive insights, incisive viewpoints and keynote presentations from transport visionaries and experts as well as industry heavyweights. Top names will lead the sessions including: Nigel Underdown, Head of Transport: Energy Saving Trust, Phil O’Gorman, General Manager, Assets, Royal Mail and Dr John Miles, Main Board Director, ARUP.
The sessions will cover a range of issues such as cultural barriers to ‘green’, the importance of considering electrical transport and the challenges of meeting government legislation. Speakers representing a breadth of sectors, such as government, finance and retail, will relate their experiences in implementing and managing sustainable transport programmes.
